Tibetans began fleeing persecution in their home country in 1959, making the dangerous month long trek across the Himalayas on foot through the snow. There are refugee settlements throughout Nepal and India. This gentleman oversees the weaving of Tibetan woollen carpets in a workshop at the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre in Darjeeling.
