In Chandni Chowk, the shopping area of Old Delhi, the twisting alleyways are too narrow for motorised vehicles. Hundreds of men earn a meagre living by pushing wooden handcarts piled high with goods, or carrying box loads on their heads to deliver goods to small shops in the bazaar.
